Rathad nan Sgeul | Storytelling Tour 

Come join us for a storytelling tour of the Highland Village. This special folklife experience will give you insight into the lives and stories of Nova Scotia Gaels. After the walk, the group will have an opportunity to enjoy some tea and traditional Cape Breton oatcakes. $25.00 per person. Living History Programs

Gabh Pàirt `nar Stòiridh | Put yourself in our story - Adult or Family Living History Program

Put yourself in our story. This two-hour program will allow individuals or whole families to create meaningful memories as they take part in our living history program. Participants will dress in period costume and experience first hand what life was like for our Gaelic ancestors. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. $25.00 per adult, $15.00 per student.  *Available June 1- August 31, 2017. *Some blackout dates apply.

Eilean na h-Òige| Island of Youth Living History Program

Baile nan Gàidheal | Highland Village’s youth living history program will be divided into 4 main Làithean (Days), each of which will afford children ages 8-12 opportunities to investigate domestic and cultural practices common to the Nova Scotia Gael.  Through a variety of engaging, hands-on activities, children will experience what life was like for the youth of rural Gaelic Nova Scotia. Children may enjoy different experiences with each visit, building upon prior knowledge; or they may simply attend a one day. For children wishing to attend all Làithean(Days), Baile nan Gàidheal/Highland Village will offer free attendance to the fourth Là (Day), given the child has attended the previous three.

This program is for ages 8-12 only and runs from 10 am to 4 pm. The cost is $45 per child.
Children can attend one or all four of the theme days.
If you attend three Wednesdays, the forth Wednesday is free.

The program is held every Wednesday for the months of July and August.

Na Deugairean | Teenagers Living History Program

Partake in this special living history program for teens and get a sense of the responsibilities and the lifestyles of young Gaels in days’ past. The program features special hands-on activities including chores, crafts, language and song. Costumes are provided. This program is for ages 13-17 and runs from 10 am to 4 pm. The cost is $45 per child. If you attend three Wednesdays, the forth Wednesday is free.

The program is held every Thursday for the months of July and August.
