Initial consultation to outline a research procedure: $10.00 Research done on site without assistance: $5.00/hr or $30/day Research Contracted to Office Staff: $30.00/hr
Research Contracted for obtaining a passport: $50.00 (2 hours max) *Photocopies and printouts extra.
Success cannot be guaranteed when conducting searches.
Holdings & Research Aids
The Seanchas Centre maintains genealogical records and files. Our library contains books pertaining to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, Scotland, Gaelic language and folklore and a small but growing collection of L'nu (Mi'kmaq) books. We hold some of the Victoria County Archives and other information of Cape Breton.
*Special group rates are available for research tours, special and family groups outside regular business hours.
