Baile nan Gàidheal | Highland Village Museum is seeking a Collections Assistant (term position) to support the care, organization, and documentation of our collections and archives. Working under the guidance of the Highland Village Museum Collections Manager, this role will contribute to important projects that support the stewardship of artifacts owned by the Nova Scotia Museum, as well as the Village’s own archival holdings.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in museum collections, archives, cultural heritage, and behind-the-scenes museum work, and to gain meaningful experience in a living-history museum setting.
Key responsibilities may include:

Assisting with collections care, documentation, and inventory

Supporting digitization, research, and cataloguing projects

Helping with storage organization and preventive conservation tasks

Assisting with archival processing and records management
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and enthusiastic about learning, with an interest in museum studies, history, or cultural heritage.
Term position: April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027
Location: Iona, Nova Scotia
Wage: $47,500 – $52,500 annually
